Our Aims and Values
Our main aim is for children to enjoy their time at playgroup. We emphasise on 'learning through play' for our children to develop and progress. This is specifically aimed through the six key areas known as the Early Learning Goals:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development - our aim is for children to become happy, secure, confident and independent individuals whose opinions are valued and who show respect for others regardless of race, creed or ability.
- Language and Literacy - our aim is to provide a wide range of activities that will develop our children's reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
- Mathematical Development - our aim is to develop mathematical concepts through planned activities, extending our children's knowledge of numbers and shapes and using mathematical language in their play.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World - our aim is to bring a broad range of activities to our children both through our local environment and through learning about the environment and customs around the world.
- Creative Development - our aim is to provide our children with the opportunity to use a wide range of creative activities including modeling, painting, music and role playing. We encourage our children to use their imaginations and observation in these activities.
- Physical Development - our aim is to provide our children with a range of activities that will help in the development of their physical skills.
A well balanced programme of engaging activities are provided to suit all learning styles. These are accessed in a variety of structures, in large adult led groups, smaller friendly focused groups, or individually.
